How to play Brick Breaker

Bring your attention to one round of Brick Breaker. Clear all forty-five bricks before losing three balls. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move. Keep the instructions close while learning this activity. Look at what changes after your first action.

Single 45-brick layout, three balls.

Build a steady rhythm

Take enough time to read a new position. If a game has a timer, learn its controls first rather than searching for them during the round. Notice the feedback after each input.

Your goal

Clear all forty-five bricks before losing three balls. Use the instructions to see which actions move you towards it. Start with a deliberate move.

Step by step

  1. Start the ball.
  2. Move the paddle to intercept it.
  3. Paddle contact changes the outgoing angle.
  4. Restart a remaining ball after a loss.

Controls

Pointer, arrow keys or held Left/Right. Start / pause and New round are available. Read a button’s label before selecting it. Return to the rules if the result is unexpected.

A useful example

An edge hit sends the ball at a different angle. Focus on why the action is allowed, not only its outcome. Notice the change in the playing area.

Watch out for this

Track its landing point, not only its current x-coordinate. Check the rule before repeating the action. When a decision goes wrong, compare it with the common mistake described below. Start again only when you intend to leave the current round.
