How to play Bubble Shooter

Start Bubble Shooter by looking at the playing area and its controls. Clear the hanging bubbles before they reach the lower boundary. Use the example below to understand a decision. Keep the instructions close while learning this activity. Choose a clear next step rather than rushing through the instructions.

Original hexagonal matching board and bouncing projectiles.

Read before acting

Read one step at a time and try it on the playing area. Match the instruction to the control you use. Use the example to check your reasoning.

Your goal

Clear the hanging bubbles before they reach the lower boundary. Read that aim before choosing your first action. Try to explain the aim in your own words.

Step by step

  1. Aim and fire.
  2. Attach bubbles to the cluster.
  3. Groups of three or more equal colours disappear.
  4. Floating groups drop; five misses lower the ceiling.

Controls

Pointer/touch aim, angle controls and Fire. On a smaller screen, keep the active part of the board within view. Look at the feedback after the action.

A useful example

Removing one support can drop a larger mixed-colour group below it. Focus on why the action is allowed, not only its outcome. Take a moment to compare.

Watch out for this

Contact with a different colour is not a match. Read the feedback to see why an action did not have the expected result. Take enough time to read a new position. If a game has a timer, learn its controls first rather than searching for them during the round.
