How to play Carrom

Try Carrom at your own pace and keep its objective in view. Clear your nine carrom men after the queen is covered. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move. Read the objective before making your first input. Look at what changes after your first action.

Play a casual Carrom match using the house rules shown here. Tournament penalties and multi-board match scoring are not used.

Build a steady rhythm

Take enough time to read a new position. If a game has a timer, learn its controls first rather than searching for them during the round. Make the next step deliberately.

Your goal

Clear your nine carrom men after the queen is covered. Keep that objective in view throughout the round. Try to explain the aim in your own words.

Step by step

1. White starts; set striker aim and power.
2. Own-colour pockets earn another shot.
3. Cover the queen with an own-colour man in the same or next shot.
4. Striker fouls return one own pocketed man if available.
5. Finish your colour after a covered queen.
