How to play Dominoes

Try Dominoes at your own pace and keep its objective in view. Empty your hand, or hold fewer pips when both players are blocked. Choose a clear next step rather than rushing through the instructions. Check the rule that explains your first action. Choose a clear next step rather than rushing through the instructions.

Double-six draw dominoes, local two players with shared-screen visible hands.

Review a difficult moment

When a decision goes wrong, compare it with the common mistake described below. Start again only when you intend to leave the current round. Notice the feedback after each input.

Your goal

Empty your hand, or hold fewer pips when both players are blocked. An attractive position is not enough unless the goal is met. The example below illustrates a decision.

Step by step

  1. Play a tile matching either open chain end.
  2. Choose which end to use.
  3. Draw only when no tile fits.
  4. Pass only with no legal tile and an empty stock.

Controls

Click or tap a piece and destination; use the turn indicator and legal-move feedback. A careful first action helps you become familiar with the layout. Return to the rules if the result is unexpected.

A useful example

An open 4 accepts 4–2, leaving 2 open. Compare this with the rule that governs the move. Look for the relevant detail.

Watch out for this

You cannot ignore a legal match to draw. Read the feedback to see why an action did not have the expected result. Watch the feedback after an action. A message can explain whether the input was accepted or whether a rule needs attention.
