How to play Sandwich Sudoku

Take a moment with Sandwich Sudoku before moving to another game. Solve the Sudoku while each outside clue gives the sum strictly between 1 and 9 in that row or column. Look at what changes after your first action. Read the objective before making your first input. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls.

Step by step

1. Select an editable cell.
2. Enter a value using the keypad or keyboard; Notes stores candidates.
3. Read the region, cage, arrow or outside clues alongside the normal constraints.
4. Check entries verifies the completed board; Undo reverses your last input.
5. New puzzle selects another included puzzle.

Controls

Click or tap cells and the digit pad. Use Notes, Undo and Reveal selected. Large boards scroll inside the game. On a smaller screen, keep the active part of the board within view. Look at the feedback after the action.

A useful example

If the values strictly between 1 and 9 are 2, 4 and 7, the sandwich clue is 13. Apply the same reasoning to the position in your own round. Keep the controls nearby.

Watch out for this

A full board must obey every extra rule. Reveal supplies assistance; it is not an earned deduction. Compare the situation with the worked example. When a decision goes wrong, compare it with the common mistake described below. Start again only when you intend to leave the current round.
